Jonathon Johnson, LMT, MTI, CSCS, USAW is a native Austinite; he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and is currently pursuing his Master's Degree in Sports Science and Nutrition in the University of Texas at Austin's Exercise Sciences graduate department. As a Massage Therapist and Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Jonathon's academic studies have focused on understanding the anatomy and physiology of the human body as it undergoes both rehabilitative and developmental processes so that he can implement effective and scientifically founded manual therapy techniques and training methodologies when working with his clients in either or both capacities.
After completing the massage therapy program at the Lauterstein-Conway Massage School in central Austin in late 2012, he started his personal practice in early 2013. Since then, he has studied multiple advanced clinical modalities including neuromuscular, myofascial, circulatory, trigger point, and structural techniques to develop a comprehensive approach to manual therapy. Not only on campus as a graduate student, Jonathon works for the University of Texas' Athletics Department in their Sports Medicine division as a manual therapist for several sports.
As a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Jonathon incorporates his knowledge regarding mobility, stability, proper movement patterns, and functional training to help his fitness clients achieve their goals, ranging from rehabilitative work to basic functional strengthening to sport specific performance enhancement oriented training. Jonathon is also a USA Weightlifting Certified sport coach and has completed the Cooper Institute's Functional Fitness Training certification program, which included FMS1 training.
Jonathon maintains his CPR/AED/First Aid certification for all ages and is a member of both the American Massage Therapy Association and National Academy of Sports Medicine. He is also a preferred provider of the Society for Oncology Massage.
All potential clients must complete the Patient Intake Form to the best of their ability and bring a printed copy of the completed form with them to their first appointment.
